INGREDIENTS:
- 200 ml (⅞ cup) warm milk;
- 7 g (1 1/2 teaspoons) dry yeast;
- 20 g (4 3/4 teaspoons) sugar;
- 6 g (1 teaspoon) salt;
- 20 g (1 tablespoon) honey;
- 400 g (3 cups) all-purpose flour;
- 30 g (2 tablespoons) softened butter;
- 50 g (½ cup) chocolate chips.
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Mix the warm milk with dry yeast, honey and sugar.
- Add all-purpose flour and salt to liquids and stir until smooth.
- Mix the butter with the dough and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- Knead the chocolate pieces into the dough.
- Fold the dough twice as shown in the video, 15 minutes apart.Leave to rest for 1 hour.
- Cut the dough into 6 parts, widen each part and roll into a cigar. Pour into a casserole dish.
- Let the bread rest for 1 hour until it has doubled in volume.
- Brush with beaten egg and bake at 180°C for 20–22 minutes.
